Firm shareholder Michael Stewart focuses his legal practice on helping individuals and families who have been wrongfully injured. Mike has represented people across the United States in wrongful death and personal injury cases. He currently represents individuals and their families in product liability, wrongful death, railroad injury and FELA claims and other catastrophic injury cases.
Before joining the firm, Mike was a member of the United States Marine Corps from 1984 to 1988.
In 1995, Mike earned his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois, with a health law certificate. He is a graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he earned his undergraduate degree in political science.
Mike worked as an assistant state’s attorney in the Cook County State Attorney’s Office from 1995 to 1998 and then became an associate attorney for Rekowski & Associates. He also worked as an attorney for Madison County Public Defender from 1999 to 2004.
In addition to his responsibilities at the firm, Mike has also worked for the Madison County State Attorney’s Office as assistant state’s attorney in the felony division. In April of 2009, he was admitted to the Capital Litigation Trial Bar with a certification as lead counsel.
