Gabriel A. Hawkins

Gabriel Hawkins accumulated substantial legal writing and litigation experience prior to joining Cohen & Malad. While in law school, Gabe participated in moot court, wherein he was awarded “Top Brief.” Gabe also participated in law journal and attained the title of Executive Articles Editor for the Indiana Journal for Global Legal Studies.

After graduating cum laude from Indiana University, Bloomington and while waiting to begin his clerkship with the Indiana Court of Appeals, Gabe worked as a Marion County Deputy Prosecutor. As a deputy prosecutor, Gabe tried numerous cases and gained invaluable trial and litigation experience.

Gabe then served with the Honorable Paul Mathias of this Indiana Court of Appeals between 2003 and 2005. In this capacity, Gabe gained invaluable insight to the judicial process and further honed his legal writing skills.

After entering private practice and prior to joining Cohen & Malad, Gabe was the primary brief writer while prosecuting large class actions and business litigation cases. Gabe was instrumental in successfully concluding a multi-million dollar settlement against a Fortune 100 Company in a business litigation contract dispute.

Since joining Cohen & Malad in 2007, Gabe continues to apply his legal writing ability and legal analysis in representing corporations in contract disputes and prosecuting class actions.
