Mr. Bailey's practice is focused on representing clients in family law, divorce and custody cases in Jefferson County and Berkeley County Family Courts. Mr. Bailey continues to represent clients in civil rights cases against government officials for excessive force, wrongful arrest, employment discrimination and business litigation matters in both state and federal courts in West Virginia. Mr. Bailey has earned the reputation as an outstanding attorney in family law and litigation matters. Mr. Bailey welcomes the opportunity to take matters to jury trial when necessary to secure his client's rights. Mr. Bailey has also successfully defended his clients by taking cases on appeal to the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Bailey received his law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law where he graduated magna cum laude, and was awarded membership into the Order of the Coif, the Order of the Barristers, and received the Patrick Duffy Koontz Scholarship for academic excellence. Mr. Bailey served as an editor on the West Virginia Law Review and authored "Death By Automobile as First Degree Felony-Murder," which was published in the West Virginia Law Review.
Mr. Bailey began his legal career practicing with the Atlanta, Georgia law firms of King & Spalding and Balch & Bingham where he primarily defended corporate clients including Fortune 500 companies in business litigation, employment discrimination and civil rights matters in federal and state courts throughout the Southeast. Mr. Bailey returned to the Eastern Panhandle in 2005 to form Arnold & Bailey, PLLC, a full-service litigation firm with S. Andrew Arnold, Esq. Arnold & Bailey expanded and added two more attorneys to their firm and continue to provide excellent legal representation to their clients on a wide-range of litigation cases.
