Homer Walton is a shareholder with the firm and co-chair of the firm's Labor & Employment Law Practice Group. He is also a member of the Litigation Department and has practiced law since 1990. Homer provides defense of claims alleging sexual harassment, employment discrimination based on age, race, sex, religion, national origin, handicap and disability and retaliation in violation of local, state and federal laws.
The state and federal statutes Homer provides defense, advice and/or training for compliance with are:
• The National Labor Relations Act, as amended;• Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended by the Civil Rights Act of 1991;
• Sections 1981 through 1980 of Title 42 of the United States Code, as amended;
• The Immigration Reform and Control Act, as amended;Homer has extensive experience representing clients in cases filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission and the Pittsburgh Commission on Human Relations. He has successfully had hundreds of cases dismissed by these administrative agencies. Homer has also engaged in numerous mediations before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and attended fact-finding conferences before the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC) and Pittsburgh Commission on Human Relations (PCHR) where he has successfully negotiated the resolution of numerous cases.
Homer is a trial attorney and has litigated employment discrimination cases in state and federal court. Homer has been named a "Pennsylvania Super Lawyer" in the 2009 and 2010 editions of Philadelphia Magazine and Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Magazine.
