Prior to being an attorney, Brooks attended the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia and was a police officer for the City of Charleston. As a police officer, Brooks served in patrol, traffic and was chief pilot of the aviation division. Brooks is trained in the use of radar, DUI field sobriety testing, breathalyzer operation and accident investigation.
