Mr. Moore graduated cum laude from Chapman University with a Bachelor's in Political Science and minor in Music. In college, he was on the men's crew team and spent a summer interning in Washington, D.C. for United States Senator Chuck Hagel. Next, he received his Juris Doctor from Chapman University Fowler School of Law where he also received a certificate in Advocacy and Dispute Resolution. While at Chapman Law, he was a member of the Mock Trial Honor Board, a member of the Honor Council, and a research assistant to Professor Timothy Canova. Additionally, he graduated with the Trial Advocacy Excellence Award.After graduating law school, Mr. Moore worked for several years at a civil defense firm. He gained experience handling cases from pre-trial negotiations, lengthy litigation, and all the way to trial. While in Southern California, he completed the Orange County Bar Association's highly esteemed College of Trial Advocacy where he further honed and practiced skills.
While in law school, Mr. Moore was a law clerk at the Public Law Center. Then, he spent a semester as a judicial extern in the chambers of The Honorable Theodor C. Albert at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. He capped off this last year of school as a law clerk a a personal injury firm in Huntington Beach, and as a certified law clerk with the Orange County District Attorney's Office.
Mr. Moore is a member of the State Bar of California. Additionally, he is admitted to practice before all California State Courts, the United States District Court for the Central, Eastern, and Northern Districts of California, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States of America.
Mr. Moore is a member of the Placer County Bar Association and serves on its Board of Directors. Additionally, he is a member and on the Board of Directors of the Kiwanis Club of Auburn.
James Moore focuses his practice on personal injury, family law, and mediation. Within his family law practice, he also has experience drafting QDROs to divide retirement accounts in family law cases and give clients advice about retirement assets.
In his free time, Mr. Moore enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, wood working, and playing piano and guitar.
