      Biography

Jim Harris founded Harris Law Offices in 1980. Since that time, Jim has practiced law in Lincoln, Nebraska with an emphasis in workers' compensation and civil litigation from the plaintiff's side. He has been an active member of the Board of Directors of the Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys. He served as Political Action Chair for that organization from 2000 to 2005 and was Legislative Chair in 2007. He is a past President of the Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys and board member of the American Association for Justice. He has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.

Jim has successfully argued a wide range of workers' compensation cases, including two important Nebraska Supreme Court decisions. Cox v. Fagen, established the principle that job injuries caused by every day activities can be compensable under the Nebraska Workers' Compensation Act as long as they were related to job-related duties.

In Worline v. ABB Alstrom, the Nebraska Supreme Court held that the plaintiff's psychological injuries were compensable under the Nebraska Workers' Compensation Act, as long as they were causally related to his physical injuries.

Jim's hobbies include history, music, swimming and running.
