Attorney Jeffrey D. Monzo concentrates his practice in the areas of Criminal Litigation, Personal Injury Litigation, and Family Law.
Mr. Monzo has over 25 years of experience in litigation and has represented clients in matters including driving under the influence, vehicular homicide, murder, and wrongful death. A former assistant public defender, he has participated in some of the most widely publicized trials in Western Pennsylvania. Mr. Monzo has represented Personal Injury clients who have received settlements of over 1 million dollars.
Mr. Monzo currently serves as the Solicitor for the Westmoreland County Coroner's Office, a position he has held since 2002.
Mr. Monzo was voted by his peers as a "Rising Star" in both 2005 and 2006 by Super Lawyers, a recognition given to those under the age of 40 who exhibit legal excellence. Since 2008, and every year thereafter, he has been named to the Best Lawyers in America for excellence in Criminal litigation. In 2013, he was selected as a member of the Westmoreland Academy of Trial Lawyers for his excellence in Criminal and Civil litigation. Since 2014, Mr. Monzo has been named one of the top 100 DUI Attorneys in Pennsylvania and one of the Best Attorneys in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Monzo is the former president of the board of Lawyers Abstract, a real estate title company. He has also served as president of the board of the Mental Health Association of Westmoreland County and as president of the board of the Maxwell Athletic Association.
Mr. Monzo is a member of the Westmoreland Academy of Trial Lawyers, the Westmoreland Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Ned J. Nakles Inns of Court.
He previously served as an adjunct faculty member at Seton Hill University, where he taught Labor Law and Business Law. He also lectured at Seton Hill University on legal issues for students preparing to take the Certified Public Accounting exam.
Mr. Monzo received his B.A. from Dickinson College in 1989 and his J.D. from Ohio Northern University in 1992, where he was the Lead Articles Editor of the Law Review.
