Joel Fugate is a trial attorney at Sanders & Parks. Joel has significant experience in the transportation, construction, and technology industries, and he frequently handles issues concerning multimillion-dollar contracts and various layers of insurance coverage. His cases often involve serious personal injuries, intellectual property infringement, and general business disputes. Joel has successfully litigated, negotiated, and settled matters for both plaintiffs and defendants.
Joel is regularly chosen to handle cases involving scientific and technical expertise. He has litigated the legal issues concerning marine electrical systems, geotechnical engineering, explosions, new technologies, a broad spectrum of licensed professionals, and many others. While working on each case, Joel takes time to educate his clients and advise them of ways to preempt future disputes and protect their businesses. Joel also strives to listen and learn from his clients and ensure they stay updated through every step of their case.
Joel earned his Juris Doctor from the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where he also obtained a graduate certificate in Law, Science, and Technology. During law school, Joel prosecuted patents and trademarks through the United States Patent and Trademark Office and received the CALI Award for academic excellence in Patent Litigation. Prior to law school, Joel completed his engineering degree at the University of Tennessee where he was elected President of the men’s rugby team.
