John is a member of the exclusive Million Dollar Advocates Forum and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, due to his numerous sizeable settlements and jury verdicts in obtaining compensation for individuals or families who have sustained serious or catastrophic injuries. In 2015, John obtained the fourteenth highest jury verdict in Missouri in obtaining a $11,500,000.00 judgment on behalf of a man severely injured due to the recklessness of an intoxicated driver. Recently, John obtained financial compensation in reaching a confidential settlement for the family of a man killed in the nationally covered Duck Boat sinking on Table Rock Lake.
In addition to serving individuals and families who have sustained injury and financial loss, John believes that it is important to invest in the community in which he operates. John serves on the Board of Directors for the Soulard School, a charter school located in historic Soulard in the City of St. Louis, that embraces diversity as the cornerstone of education and development. John also invests time and has donated thousands of dollars to the Outreach Center in Hayti, Missouri, that provides a safe and structured environment for children each day after school. John’s endowment provides hundreds of children, grades K-12, with meals, school supplies, and sports and music activities, leagues, and training. John and his staff also adopt numerous families in need over the holiday season through the St. Louis County Adopt a Family program, amongst many other important non-profits that he supports.
John and his wife Laura have three children, Lillyan, Carmody, and John Jr., and are members of St. Gerard Majella Parish. John is the son of the late L.H. “Bud” Wilbers, 1932-2014, who served the country in the Army as a Forward Observer during the Korean War, and who served our community through the practice of law for fifty two (52) years.
