Biography
A Roanoke, Virginia native, John Fishwick has spent his professional career helping individuals who have faced serious civil and criminal legal challenges. John is not afraid of a tough case and has won significant civil verdicts and obtained acquittals for clients facing criminal charges. No stone is left unturned as John looks for ways to win your case.
John is fortunate to work with a talented group of attorneys and staff at his firm, many of whom he has worked with for years. Many of his cases are referred to him from other Virginia attorneys. In fact, many other lawyers refer their most complex cases to John and his team.
As a former federal prosecutor, John brings extensive trial experience to his personal practice and leverages that expertise for clients facing serious life challenges. He has successfully handled personal injury, criminal defense, commercial law, and qui tam cases.
Former U.S. Attorney for the Western District of VirginiaJohn was appointed by President Obama and unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate for this position. As the highest-ranking law enforcement officer in the District, John focused his attention on the prosecution of violent criminals and those responsible for the heroin epidemic.
Additionally, he was actively involved with the Student Pledge Against Gun Violence program, offender reentry programs, and opioid and heroin prevention.
