Jonathan C. Schwartz

Mr. Schwartz practices in the firm's Securities Law and Commercial Litigation practice groups. In addition to representing financial institutions, broker-dealers, and investment advisers in securities litigation and arbitration related matters, Mr. Schwartz's areas of focus also include breaches of contracts and warranties, products liability, negligence, the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, fraud, and fiduciary duties. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Schwartz worked at a boutique law firm in Miami where he handled complex commercial litigation cases and class action lawsuits in federal and state courts at both the trial and appellate levels. Mr. Schwartz was also responsible for various transactional matters, including preparing commercial and corporate contracts for foreign and domestic companies.

While attending law school, Mr. Schwartz was the Research Editor for the University of Florida Journal of Law & Public Policy, a member of the Dean's List, earned Book Awards for the highest grades in his Legal Research & Writing and Comparative Constitutional History courses, and was recognized with an award for his commitment to pro bono service. In addition to interning for one of Florida's distinguished United States senators, Mr. Schwartz has also clerked for the Office of the Attorney General for the State of Florida, the Office of the Public Defender for the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida, and an illustrious circuit court judge in Florida's Seventeenth Judicial Circuit.
