Joseph Reiter's highly successful legal career is well documented by his many contributions to the profession, his reputation among the legal community and his leadership.
Trying cases throughout Florida and the United States, his experience and hard work has resulted in many multi-million dollar verdicts totaling more than $100 million dollars for his clients. He is recognized as one of the best personal injury lawyers in the United States by the prestigious publication, The Best Lawyers in America.
Joe's reputation as a fighter was born of survival. He grew up in a near north side Chicago slum tenement in a rough neighborhood shared by several gangs. He learned at an early age that hard work and education was the only way out of poverty. Reiter enlisted in the U.S. Army twice. The first time he was sent home because he was too young. He went on to serve in the Seventh Infantry Division in Korea.
Joe attended the University of Illinois and received a Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University, where he was a Dana Scholar. On the eve of graduation in 1968, he accepted an offer to join a West Palm Beach law firm, where he and Lake Lytal, Jr. practiced together until they started their own firm in 1985.
