Mr. Ramirez is a 1994 graduate of Seton Hall Law School. He worked in the public sector until 2002 when he entered the legal field. After being admitted to the New York State Bar in 2002, Mr. Ramirez worked for the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone as a staff attorney and wrote contracts and grants as well as other legal duties, seeking to revitalize distressed communities by using federal and state funds as well as tax incentives as catalysts for private investment in Upper Manhattan. At the Empowerment Zone, he worked under the late Johnnie Cochran Jr. In 2004, Mr. Ramirez began a small practice specializing in family law. Thereafter, he joined a small firm in Manhattan specializing in immigration. After joining Peña and Kahn, PLLC, Mr. Ramirez began practicing in the areas of criminal, immigration and bankruptcy law. Mr. Ramirez is a member of the New York County Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association. He received the A. Wesleyan Academic Scholarship 1983-1988.
