Karyn received her B.A. from Rivier College in 1979 and obtained her Juris Doctorate in 1983 from Franklin Pierce Law Center. She is admitted to practice in New Hampshire and Maine. She joined Shaheen & Gordon in 1991.
Karyn represents clients in diverse matters related to general business, real estate development, land use and probate, trust and estate matters. Karyn brings many years of experience as a town board member to the full range of issues faced by her business and individual clients. She and the other attorneys in the firm who focus on business transactions and litigation often work closely together to help clients formulate business strategies and development plans to meet their individual plans and goals.
She has represented banks involving trust and banking practices, real estate developers, entrepreneurs in start-ups and established corporations.
Karyn has particularly enjoyed a strong and rapidly growing probate, trust and estate practice developing individualized business succession and estate plans so as to minimize conflicts with tax obligations. Karyn is a lifelong New Hampshire resident. She has been active in municipal government serving as the chairperson of the Barrington Zoning Board of Adjustment for three years.
