Katherine Butler

Katherine learned to appreciate the intricacies of immigration law first as a paralegal at FitzGerald Law Company immediately after graduating from college. With the experience gained assisting clients to pursue a better future for themselves as a paralegal, she decided to pursue her own career in the legal field, and graduated from law school as Valedictorian and Public Interest Law Fellow. During that time, she was invited to join the school's Immigration Clinic, where she participated in "Know Your Rights" classes, deepened her knowledge of the history of immigration law in the U.S., and represented clients in both affirmative and defensive positions. She also served on the Executive Board of the school's Law Review, and published a note on the U-Visa. When the opportunity presented itself to return to immigration law, Katherine jumped at the opportunity. Katherine has a strong appreciation for the values that individuals of other cultures bring to our great melting pot. Having lived and traveled throughout other counties, including Mexico and China, she is passionate about assisting individuals that are not originally from the U.S. navigate their way through our country's legal system.

Prior to joining FitzGerald Law Company, Katherine worked with a number of governmental agencies and elected officials, and spent 8 years advocating for not-for-profit credit unions. Her combination of personal, academic, legal experience, and drive to advocate for justice with both ferocity and compassion, places Katherine in an ideal position to represent those who need it most and facilitate the immigration process.

Katherine has a Bachelor of Arts, Honors, degree from Boston College. She received her law degree from the University of Massachusetts School of Law-Dartmouth and she is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She is an active member of the Boston Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Katherine aprendió a apreciar las complejidades de la ley de inmigración primero como asistente legal en FitzGerald Law Company, inmediatamente después de graduarse de la universidad. Cuando se presentó la oportunidad de volver al área de ley de inmigración, Katherine aprovechó y la tomó. Habiendo vivido y viajado por otros países, incluidos México y China, a Katherine le apasiona ayudar a las personas que no son originarias de los EE. UU. a navegar por el sistema legal de nuestro país.

Antes de unirse a FitzGerald Law Company, Katherine trabajó con varias agencias gubernamentales y funcionarios electos, y pasó 8 años abogando por cooperativas de ahorro y crédito sin fines de lucro. Su combinación de experiencia personal, académica y legal, y su impulso para abogar por la justicia con ferocidad y compasión, coloca a Katherine en una posición ideal para representar a quienes más lo necesitan y facilitar el proceso de inmigración.

Katherine tiene una licenciatura en artes, con honores de Boston College, recibió su título de abogado de la Facultad de derecho de la Universidad de Massachusetts-Dartmouth, y está admitida para ejercer derecho en el Estado de Massachusetts.
