      Biography

Mr. McConkey has developed a practice that is focused primarily on transactional matters, with approximately twenty percent devoted to litigation as it arises out of the underlying transactions. His focus is in representing the client, in both their individual and business needs. It is a simple truth that many times a client's personal and business interests are intertwined and often inseparable. In providing insightful and effective counsel to his clients in both areas, Mr. McConkey has developed knowledge and experience in assisting in structured planning for future challenges, and resolving current conflicts. Among the types of guidance Mr. McConkey provides his business clients are services relating to business entity type selection and formation, formalizing of the relationships among the owners of a business through written agreements designed to minimize future conflicts and ambiguity, assistance with the ongoing maintenance of the business structure to include its evolution and potential conversion, and counsel on winding up a business at the end of its existence.

Prior to his years of private practice and joining Derryberry & Naifeh, LLP, Mr. McConkey served as the counsel and constituent representative for U.S. Senator James M. Inhofe, and as a law clerk for U.S. District Court Judge, Gregory K. Frizzell in the Northern District of Oklahoma. Prior to attending law school Mr. McConkey utilized his undergraduate degree as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) for Verizon Communications Corporation, as well as with The Hertz Corporation in its Information Technology Group.
