Mr. Williams is a founding partner in the law firm of Barnett, Howard, and Williams, PLLC. Prior to starting the law firm, he served as an Assistant District Attorney with the Lubbock County Criminal District Attorney’s Office as well as an Assistant City Attorney with the City of Plano, Texas. As an Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Williams prosecuted a wide variety of criminal cases, ranging from a simple traffic ticket to Capital Murder and everything in between. In addition to his experience in the courtroom, he has handled various issues involving civil and transactional matters. As an Assistant City Attorney, Mr. Williams served as in-house counsel and municipal prosecutor with the City of Plano. Mr. Williams helped the city in resolving civil litigation, reviewing contracts, drafting ordinances, and preparing legal opinions across a broad spectrum of complicated legal issues involving the City of Plano.
Mr. Williams has taught in-house classes on Arson Prosecution and Investigation, Expunctions and Non-Disclosures, Voir Dire Techniques, and conflict strategies dealing with disgruntled citizens.
AccomplishedSince stepping foot out of law school, Mr. Williams has firmly established himself as a capable and effective trial lawyer. In 2013, he was recognized as a Top Attorney by Fort Worth Magazine and was selected by the National Trial Lawyers Association as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers. Whether representing the State of Texas or an individual client, he has always practiced zealous advocacy. While attending Texas Tech University School of Law, he served on the Board of Barristers. Mr. Williams is a trial attorney that will fight hard and fight smart to see that justice is done in every case.
Hard-workingMr. Williams was born and raised in Post, TX. The son of a cotton farmer and an elementary school teacher, he was raised knowing that there is only one constant for success in life: hard work. He has brought his West Texas work ethic to the Metroplex and looks forward to dedicating his time and energy to effectively representing his clients. His hobbies include playing cards with friends, hunting, fishing, golf and reading. He is an active member of Elevate Life Church in Frisco, TX.
