Mr. Collemi is an Associate at McOmber McOmber & Luber, P.C. in the Newark, New Jersey office. He handles predominantly employment litigation matters, including discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and whistleblower claims.
In 2018, Mr. Collemi graduated summa cum laude from John Jay College of Criminal Justice where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Criminology. Afterward, Mr. Collemi attended Roger Williams University School of Law on a Jurisprudence Scholarship where he graduated cum laude. He earned his Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2021. Mr. Collemi is admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey, United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the District of Columbia.
During law school, Mr. Collemi worked as a law clerk at Fusco and Macaluso Attorneys at Law in Passaic, New Jersey. Additionally, he served as a legal extern with CVS Health where he drafted and reviewed contracts. In addition to working at the aforementioned establishments, Mr. Collemi co-founded and served as treasurer of the Justinian (Italian-American) Law Society.
Upon graduation, Mr. Collemi returned to his home state, New Jersey, where he served as the 2021-2022 Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable John I. Gizzo, J.S.C., Essex Vicinage, Criminal Division. During his clerkship, he performed extensive legal research for various criminal issues, drafted memoranda for the judge, and edited and drafted all opinions and orders of the court.
After his judicial clerkship, Mr. Collemi took a position as an Assistant Prosecutor at the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. Mr. Collemi was assigned to the Pre-Indictment Unit within the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. Specifically, he was assigned to the Special Remand Court where he handled approximately 300 active criminal cases. Here, Mr. Collemi zealously advocated for the Essex County community by reviewing and providing case discovery to opposing counsel, negotiating pleas and sentences, and conducting hearings and trials. Most notably, Mr. Collemi conducted several trials during his tenure as a prosecutor and secured favorable outcomes for the State and victims in these cases. Through this experience, Mr. Collemi has grown into a fierce advocate for justice.
Now, as an Associate, Mr. Collemi utilizes his legal background to effectively advocate for employees treated unjustly in the workplace to achieve positive results and improved circumstances.
In addition to speaking English, Mr. Collemi is fluent in Italian.
