Mark Eck has been practicing law for over 20 years. A graduate of Notre Dame where he majored in psychology, Mark returned home to Pittsburgh to get his law degree at the University of Pittsburgh in 1981. He joined Meyer Darragh shortly thereafter, became a partner in 1985. Today he is one of this area's highly regarded trial attorneys with an emphasis on commercial, product liability, toxic tort and general trial matters.
An attorney with lots of jury trials under his belt, Mark has also been a practitioner of alternative dispute resolution, more commonly called mediation and arbitration. Trained in this field, he is a member of the American Arbitration Association, and he has served in the role of mediator/arbitrator and as counsel to parties seeking to resolve a dispute in this less costly, expedited alternative process.
Admitted to practice law in West Virginia as well as Pennsylvania, Mark spends a lot of time on the road for his clients. The demand for his skills throughout the tri-state area reminds you a bit of the old itinerant Abe Lincoln-style lawyer: have case, will travel. But that kind of personalized attention to a client's needs is the hallmark of good lawyering.
Mark is an active member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC), the Defense Research Institute (DRI), The Pennsylvania Defense Institute (PDI), and various other defense organizations.
