Mark Kovacich is a nationally-renowned attorney with the firm of Kovacich Snipes Johnson, P.C. in Great Falls, Montana. A fourth-generation Montanan, Mark grew up in a hard-working family that experienced many hardships due to greed and unethical behavior of corporate interests in the state. Motivated by the wrongs inflicted on so many, Mark entered the legal profession to level the playing field and actively help the people of Montana achieve justice.
Serving clients throughout the state, he focuses his practice on complex civil litigation cases involving personal injury and workers' compensation claims, while also representing plaintiffs in environmental litigation, workplace litigation, product liability and toxic tort claims.
During the course of his career he has obtained over $350 million of dollars in settlements and awards, including the fifth-highest verdict in Montana state court history. For that achievement he was recognized as Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Montana Trial Lawyers Association in 2005. He received the Trial Lawyer of the Year award again in 2019 along with his partner, Ben Snipes. He has also been recognized twice previously with the MTLA's Appellate Advocate of the Year award.
Mark's achievements in the practice of law have resulted in him being rated AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell, a peer-review rating that signifies the highest recognition of legal abilities and ethical practices in the profession. Selected to the National Association of Distinguished Counsel, Mark is involved in several other legal organizations including service on the Board of Directors for the American Association for Justice and the Montana Trial Lawyers Association. He is a member of the State Bar of Montana and the Cascade County Bar Association.
Mark earned his law degree with honors from the University of Montana School of Law, and his undergraduate degree from Montana Tech of the University of Montana. He is admitted to practice in all Montana state courts as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the U.S.
