Mary F. Aspros was born and raised in the small town of Falmouth, Massachusetts, as one of six children. She moved to Florida in 1989 and put herself through school, first attending Fort Myers Community College and then the University of South Florida in Tampa. She moved to Tallahassee in 1994 and has been there ever since. She is married to Steven Aspros, a prominent Dentist in Tallahassee, and has three step-children: Lisi, Natalia and George.
Mary is a proud Seminole, with three degrees from Florida State University. She finished her BA in Psychology in 1995 and earned a Masters of Social Work in 1997 after completing two externships at the Florida Department of Developmental Disabilities as well as the Leon County Guardian Ad Litem Program. She then entered law school at Florida State, graduating in May of 2000.
During her time at FSU law school, she was appointed to the position of University Defender, providing undergraduate and graduate students with representation before the University in student code of conduct disciplinary proceedings.
Mary also worked for the FSU law school's Children's Advocacy Center (now referred to as the Public Interest Law Center) advocating for low income families in matters relating to education law and social security disability law.
Mary practiced in the areas of Labor and Employment Law for ten years at the firm of Meyer, Brooks, Demma, Aspros & Blohm, where she handled both public and private sector employment matters, while focusing the majority of her practice defending educators before state and local disciplinary boards on both employment and licensure matters.
In 2009, Mary opened and became managing partner of the Tallahassee branch of the Nugent Law Firm, handling Social Security Disability and Personal Injury cases. During her time with the Nugent Law Firm, she represented thousands of disabled people at all levels of the Social Security disability process and personally attended hundreds of social security hearings throughout Florida, Georgia and Alabama.
Mary is so happy to now be working for Morgan & Morgan in the firm's Tallahassee office. Her passion for helping people makes her the perfect fit for our growing Social Security practice.
