Megan graduated with a B.A. in History from Young Harris College. After graduating from Young Harris, Megan went on to receive a J.D. from The University of Florida, Levin College of Law. She is admitted to the Georgia Bar and licensed to practice law in Georgia. Megan is also admitted to practice in all Georgia State and Superior Courts as well as admitted to practice before the Northern District of Georgia Federal District Court.
During her time in law school, Megan worked as a legal intern for both the City Attorney's Office of Gainesville, Florida and for the University of North Georgia. In those internship roles, Megan gained valuable experience working as in-house counsel. She attributes this experience for sparking her interest in university representation and her appreciation for contract drafting, and implementation of preventative practice policies and procedures for business and entities of all types.
Since her admission to the Georgia bar, Megan has assisted clients with business disputes, contract drafting, employment law issues, and provided investigative services, including Title IX investigations, to businesses and universities. Megan also has experience working with and providing general advice for municipal government entities. She enjoys assisting businesses of all sizes by providing general business advising as well as litigating disputes.
Megan's experiences working with clients from both an in-house perspective and as an attorney working in a firm provide her with a strong understanding of the issues her clients are facing. Understanding both sides, allows her to provide advice that can not only help her clients face difficulties with confidence but assist in creating policies and procedures that will work to avoid future issues down the road.
Megan is a Gainesville, Georgia native is happy to serve the community she grew up in. She remains involved with the athletics program of her local high school, including acting as a community coach and serving on the selection committee for the athletics' hall of fame. In her spare time, Megan can be found out in the local mountains hiking and kayaking with her husband Tyler and their two dogs.
