Michael Restovich is a native of Rochester, Minnesota. He attended St. John the Evangelist Elementary School, Willow Creek Junior High School, and ultimately graduated from Rochester Mayo High School in 1997. Although he received and accepted a full athletic scholarship from the University of Notre Dame, Michael chose to forgo college after being drafted in the second round of the 1997 Major League Baseball amateur draft by his hometown Minnesota Twins.
Michael played 15 seasons of professional baseball, making it to the Major Leagues with the Minnesota Twins, Colorado Rockies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs, and Washington Nationals organizations. In 2008, he had the unique opportunity to play one season in Japan as a member of the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks of the Nippon Professional Baseball League. In 2012, Michael retired from professional baseball to pursue his other childhood dream of becoming a lawyer like his father.
Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri, in 2014, majoring in English. He graduated from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2018. Throughout his time in law school, Michael had the privilege of working with his sister and brother-in-law as a law clerk at the firm his late father established. Today, he is honored and proud to join them as an attorney at the firm.
