"Michael J. Wood was born and raised in California and upon graduating from high school, Mr. Wood joined the United States Marine Corps. Before receiving an honorable discharge, he spent five years serving his country on numerous deployments with in an infantry unit stationed out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina after earning the rank of sergeant. In 1999, Mr. Wood moved to Florida to attend the University of Florida where he graduated cum laude with degrees in English and Criminology. Following his graduation the University of Florida, he completed his legal education at the Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center in 2007. Mr. Wood then began working for a nationwide insurance defense firm where his practice focused on defending large corporations and insurance companies against personal injury claims, including automobile negligence, trucking accidents, premises liability, negligent security and wrongful death matters. In 2012 he became a partner with the defense firm and focused his practice on premises liability representing one of the world's largest retail chains, as well as major insurance carriers in all manors of negligence claims.
In 2019, Mr. Wood joined Morgan & Morgan where he uses his experience in representing large corporations and insurance companies to now exclusively represent individuals and families who have been injured due to the negligence of others.
In his free time, Mr. Wood enjoys spending time with his wife and three beautiful children."
