      Biography

      Michael P. Cavanagh is a 1986 graduate of the State University of New York at Albany, where he graduated cum laude with a double major of English and Political Science. He also competed in ice hockey. Mike graduated with honors from Albany Law School of Union University, receiving his Juris Doctor degree in 1994. At Albany Law School, he was a Note & Comment Editor for the Albany Law Review.

      Mike is an officer of the firm and a trial and appellate lawyer who focuses on defending tort cases involving premises liability, construction accidents, products liability and medical malpractice. Mike also practices employment law, representing employers. As a trial attorney, Mike has completed over 40 jury trials in state and federal courts. He regularly appears before appellate courts and has successfully argued before the New York Court of Appeals. Mike is one of the founding members of the firm’s Diversity Committee. He carries an AV rating with Martindale-Hubbell.

      Mike is admitted to practice in the State of New York, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York as well as the United States District Court for Vermont. He has lectured on trial practice and other civil litigation issues and is a member of the New York State and Albany County Bar Associations. Mike is an avid runner and hockey player. He completed the 1981 and 2003 New York Marathons and the 2000 Boston Marathon. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching youth soccer, hockey and baseball teams.
