Attorney Nicola Cummings is an aggressive criminal defense lawyer in Henry County Georgia. She devotes herself to the practice areas of Criminal Defense, Family Law, and Personal Injury Law. She attended Mercer University Law School and Virginia University School of Law where she earned a Masters of Law in Forensic Justice.
Attorney Cummings has an extensive career in criminal law. She began her career in criminal justice at Gwinnett County Police Department as a Crime Scene Investigator where she investigated all types of all types of crimes scenes from burglaries to homicide for almost 10 years. She analyzed crime scenes, collected evidence, processed all types of forensic materials for potential DNA, fingerprints, and other trace evidence. She also forensically exploited Improvised Explosive Devices in Iraq and Afghanistan for possible evidence. She is a POST Identification Technician, and a Certified Latent Print Examiner - a fingerprint expert. She has testified as a fingerprint expert on five occasions.
During law school she worked as interned at the Bibb County Office of the Public Defender and the Houston Count District Attorney Office. After graduating law school, she prosecuted misdemeanors including all types of traffic citations, DUIs, domestic cases, forgery and conducted various types of hearings: motions, restitutions, probation revocations. She has independently handled approximately 40 bench trials and jury trials.
As a defense attorney, she has defended felony cases such as murder, child molestation, aggravated assault, battery and various other crimes and misdemeanors.
