Patrick McKay graduated in 2001 from Notre Dame High School in Harper Woods. He attended Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and graduated (cum laude) in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a double-major in Marketing and Management. In 2005, he was chosen "Marketing Student of the Year" by the Marian University Faculty and was a finalist for Student-Athlete of the Year and Student of the Year. In 2008, he received his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. While attending law school he worked as a law clerk for Kirk & Huth, P.C.
Mr. McKay is a member of the State Bar of Michigan (Real Property and Labor & Employment Sections), the Macomb County Bar Association, and has also been admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Mr. McKay has been representing and working alongside banks and court appointed receivers regarding Receivership litigation, business operations, property management, collection and liquidation. He also has a vast array of experience in civil litigation cases, some of which have focused on contracts, personal injury claims, municipal claims and defenses and shareholder disputes.
