Paul H. Melbostad specializes in probate/trust and domestic partnership matters, as well as business and real estate transactions and litigation. Paul associated with the firm in 1992, becoming a partner in April of 1993. A native of Minnesota, he obtained the degrees of J.D. and M.B.A., from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 1981, and served as an economic advisor on the staff of the Governor. He was certified by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy in 1986. In 1996, 1999 and again in 2001, Paul was appointed by the District Attorney to the San Francisco Ethics Commission, which enforces the laws governing campaign finance, lobbyists, campaign consultants and the whistleblower program. Paul served as a Commissioner on the San Francisco Board of Permit Appeals from 1988 to 1992. He also served for eight years on the Board of Directors of 18th Street Services, a predecessor of New Leaf Services for the Community. Paul continues to serve as advisor to several other nonprofit agencies and foundations.
