As a lawyer, in the firm of Blankenship, Massey Taliaferro and Taylor, Philip Taliaferro, III is an experienced attorney who is dedicated to helping clients in a diverse range of practice areas. He has tremendous experience in personal injury, wrongful death and tractor trailer cases. Other members of the firm handle business law, family law, criminal defense, estate planning, probate, Workers' Compensation, Social Security disability, bankruptcy, employment law, and military law.
Phil is a graduate of Centre College and the University of Kentucky College of Law and is admitted to practice in Kentucky, Ohio, US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, US District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, and the United States Supreme Court. Additionally, he served in the United States Navy from 1962 through 1965 as an officer where he served as a Navy attorney and a shore patrol officer. He was fortunate to be awarded the honor of US Marine Corps "Officer of the Day" in Subic Bay, Philippines.
Throughout his career, Phil has earned numerous awards from many organizations to honor his professional achievements and community involvement. The peer review service, Martindale-Hubbell, gave him the highest rating of "AV" preeminent in recognition of his professionalism and ethical standards from 1994 to present and he has had a Martindale Hubbell "AV "rating from 1980 to the present.
Phil also enjoys being involved in professional and community organizations. He has served as Vice President for the Kentucky Academy of Trial Attorneys, Chairman of the Kentucky Personnel Board from 1972 through 1987, and was on the Board of Regents for Northern Kentucky University for many years. He was active in the leadership of the Boy Scouts of America organization and served on the Dan Beard Council Board of Directors for more than 30 years. He has been a Fellow in the International Academy of Trial Attorneys (membership limited to 500 attorneys) since 1997.
