I had gotten my DWI in 2016. I paid all my dues, literally and figuratively, over the course of a year – outpatient services 2x/week, drug tests 1x/week, defensive driving courses, and of course, all the expenses that come with them. Throughout said year, during which I interacted with multiple Oasas providers on a weekly basis, not once was I told that I had exactly one year from my treatment completion date to apply for my license. Not once. That being said, I had moved to Manhattan during this process, so by the time I finished all that was required of me, the need for a car was non-existent. Cut scene to 2022, now living in Maryland and therefore ready for a vehicle, and I’m told that I waited too long – that because I didn’t resolve this within the 1-year time frame, all of my previous due diligence was negated. I had to go back to square one. And I refused to relive that hell again. When I started searching for a lawyer, I heard about 17-18 “Nos” before finally getting a “Yes” from Richard. I was in a fairly panicked state by this point, and after listening to my situation, Richard’s calm and confident demeanor made me finally start to feel at ease – like there was hope. He assured me I wouldn’t have to go through the full ringer a second time and he absolutely kept his word. He found me an Oasas provider, someone who was even willing to Zoom with me so that I didn’t have to travel back to New York, and one 45-minute session and a clean drug test later, I had my life back. Not only did Richard help me close one of the darkest chapters of my life, but he offered me peace of mind the whole time. He truly heard me out, was patient, reassuring, responsive (even with my multiple question-filled emails) and made me feel like there was a light at the end of the tunnel for the first time in years. If you need a defense attorney, look no further. Go with the guy that did what almost 20 others said couldn’t be done.
