      Biography

Bob Goodman joined Kilgore Law in 2010, after 30 years of law practice, 11 in the fields of bankruptcy, creditor rights, and general business litigation, and 19 in the fields of employment law and employment benefits law, including discrimination, compensation and whistleblower claims. In many of these employment law areas, Bob Goodman has pursued multiple plaintiff and class or representative actions involving a large number of actual or potential individual plaintiffs, and has successfully settled a number of such claims and class actions.

"I want to thank Bob Goodman and his staff for great service. He took the time to listen to my issue, got straight to the point, and kept me grounded. I received a realistic, acceptable settlement. Bob's strength is in the way he treats friends and foes. He is very careful to state a point clearly, to ensure that the point made cannot be miscommunicated. I have already referred Bob to a friend, and will continue to do so. In my opinion, anyone looking for integrity in an attorney must consider Robert Goodman." Mitch G., Religious Discrimination Matter, 2012

His employment benefits practice includes severance claims and disability benefits claims including disability discrimination, short-term disability claims, long-term disability claims and employee injury claims governed by the federal Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and non-ERISA disability and employee injury, related insurance and non-subscriber employee injury claims. He is currently involved in class action litigation under ERISA on behalf of former registered representatives of a major securities broker.

Bob Goodman also has an arbitration practice on behalf of broker-dealer employees and securities customers pursuing claims through the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and is currently involved in class action litigation under ERISA on behalf of former registered representatives of major securities brokers.

His employment law cases include minimum wage and overtime claims under the federal Fair-Labor Standards Act (FLSA); employment discrimination, age discrimination, sex discrimination, sexual harassment, denial of accommodations, and retaliation claims under federal and state discrimination statutes. Other employment law cases he has pursued include employment discrimination and retaliation claims for whistleblowing in violation of the federal and state statutes.

Robert Goodman has also pursued claims for denial of reemployment, discrimination and retaliation against military service members under the federal Uniformed Servicemembers Employment Rights and Reemployment Act (USERRA). His work on these cases has garnered attention from national and local press.

He has also pursued qui tam cases to seek recoveries on behalf of governmental entities for false claims by healthcare providers and other federal and state funding beneficiaries and related wrongful termination claims under the False Claims Act.

When I hired Mr. Goodman, I was impressed. He has very good command of the language and law. He appears reasonably smart. He appears empathetic. He states that he is there to help you. He promise you that he will protect and sue for you. That all changes after he gets paid his retainer. After he gets your retainer, he really does minimal. He’s been paid, so why does he care after that point? He does not follow through with his initial promises. He backs down to other attorneys. Instead of fighting for you, he will change his tone to compromise or settling. That’s not what he promised in the beginning and what he was hired for in the beginning. He should be upfront about that. He is arrogant and does not like to be second guessed. He seems compassionate at first, but is really all about the money to him. I initially had faith in him as did other another reviewer client that I saw earlier on this website. But you will see that he is such a coward and is all about the money. You want a lawyer who will fight for you. Not one who promises you the moon, but cowers to other attorneys after he gets your retainer. Be upfront and realistic to the client. Don’t over promise and under deliver. I have no problem paying an attorney, just wish he was more upfront. He does minimal after he is paid his “retainer.” The office “museum” that he works at is fancy. He has large screens in his office. He trained at Columbia. In fact, he has a picture of his son shaking hands with President Obama. But don’t let that fool you for one second. He is a coward and over promises before he gets paid his retainer. Looking at another reviewer, I also lost trust in this attorney over time. Do yourself a favor. Look elsewhere. Don’t be fooled by the fancy office. If you look, he really is not busy when you come into his office. Save your time and money. Look for a real attorney who will truly be your advocate and actually fight for you and delivers on what he or she promises. He is not very ethical. I learned the hard way time-wise and financial wise. I don’t even care so much all about the money, but all the time wasted from empty “compassionate” promises. I really don’t like to write bad reviews, but for this attorney – I have an ethical responsibility to future clients to protect them. Avoid at all costs. I have no idea why his partners keep him at the practice.
