Ron Koksal was born in Russell, Kansas. He attended the University of Tennessee (J.D., 1972) and was Order of the Coif and Editor-in-Chief of the Tennessee Law Review. He was a law clerk to Justice Allison B. Humpreys, Supreme Court of Tennessee (1972-1973) and was admitted to the bar in 1973. He is admitted to practice before various federal courts and the United States Supreme Court. In addition to various bar associations, he is a member of the American Inns of Court (Master of the Bench) and was the recipient of the Knoxville Bar Association pro-bono award in 1990.
