Ron Wilt is a highly-rated Kentucky attorney who limits his practice to medical negligence/malpractice, nursing home abuse, and personal injury cases. Until 2007, Ron practiced medical malpractice defense on behalf of insurance companies, doctors, hospitals and nursing homes throughout Kentucky.
A Long Relationship with Law and MedicineRon had not always planned on being a lawyer; in fact, he received a Doctoral Fellowship to Vanderbilt University to study Physiological Psychology. He left Vanderbilt to take his LSATs, when he realized that his passion for teaching complex scientific ideas and his interest in the law could be combined by focusing on medical malpractice. Since his second year in law school in 1991, Ron has studied, researched, learned and loved the legal fields surrounding how and why doctors practice medicine.
A Change of FocusIn 2007, Ron decided they could do more for people by helping victims of medical malpractice. Wilt & Klausing was born from the desire to help people in their greatest time of need. In a recent article published in Attorney at Law Magazine, where Ron was honored as the Kentucky Attorney of the Month, Ron explained that "catastrophically injured people are faced with insurmountable odds. They're trying to take on a multi-billion dollar insurance company or institution and you are their only hope. You know it matters. It's an awesome responsibility, but when you are successful in these cases, you know that a family is better off than before they met you. That sense of improving the world, even if just a little bit, makes it all worthwhile."
Making Time for Fun and FamilyEven when you work with your best friends, you still need time to relax. Ron spends that time with his seven year old son, Mason, whenever possible. Ron is an avid outdoorsman, and he and Mason often spend time together on Ron's farm or playing with their Dobermans. When it is too cold or wet to be outside, you might find Ron and Mason watching the game and cheering for the Cincinnati Bengals - Ron was a four year letterman when he played football in college - the Cleveland Cavaliers or the Cincinnati Reds, or for University of Cincinnati, Louisville Bearcats and the Ohio State Buckeyes. At the end of a long week, you may find Ron curling up with a historical biography, or popping on a movie.
Choosing Your LawyerWhen you hire Ron Wilt, you benefit from his extensive experience and distinct perspective when evaluating issues that impact whether to settle or go to trial. Having worked directly with the insurance executives who make those decisions for over 15 years, Ron knows how to maximize settlement value and, if necessary, win at trial. As a result of Ron's record of success, representing both plaintiffs and defendants, many defendants are more likely to seek a reasonable settlement with his clients rather than risk an unfavorable verdict at trial.
