The firm was established in 1995 upon my departure from the Navy's Judge Advocate General Corps. Located just three blocks from the Lee County Justice Center, the firm specializes in litigation. The main groupings of the practice are divorce, criminal and civil which I will briefly describe. On the divorce front, we currently have an appeal concerning a father's liability for child support in the context of donated sperm pending before the Second District Court of Appeals which will be argued in early 2000. We also have numerous scheduled trials involving custody, equitable distribution, and child support. Child support modifications, both upward and downward, are also a practice area.In the criminal arena, domestic violence cases seem to be becoming more and more prevalent. A recent jury acquittal involved three alleged victims, which was tried in September 1999. Various state felonies and other misdemeanors are also handled. Federal cases, mostly involving drugs, are also a part of the practice. The civil side has its primary emphasis on personal injury. A settlement of $225,000 was recently received for an injured client in a drunk driving case. We also handle a wide variety of commercial, landlord/tenant, collections, and fraud cases.
