Russ McLaughlin has been engaged in the practice of law in the Lorain County and Cuyahoga County Ohio areas since 1974. In addition to the general practice of law, he has served as Special Counsel to two Ohio attorneys general, assistant prosecutor in the Lorain Municipal Court, Magistrate for the Lorain Municipal Court, acting judge in the Avon Lake and Lorain Municipal Courts, Law Director for the City of Avon, Special Counsel for the cities of Avon and Elyria, and counsel to the Avon Charter Review Committee. He has been an instructor of real estate and business law courses at the Lorain County Community College, the Lorain County Joint Vocational School, Lorain Business College and the Ohio Paralegal Institute and has served as a presenter at Lorain County Bar Association seminars on probate and estate planning subjects.

Russ now concentrates his practice in the areas of Business law, Real Estate, Probate and Estate Planning. He provides legal services to many local businesses, from formation of business entities to contracts and general corporate matters. His probate and estate planning practice includes the drafting of trusts and other documents, the administration of decedents’ estates and probate litigation. His real estate practice includes residential and commercial real estate transactions, and real estate development work including planning, land acquisition and assembly, governmental approvals, developer agreements, and formation of homeowners’ associations, declarations and covenants.
