Scott D Lane

Attorney Scott D. Lane is a managing partner of the reputable Chicago personal injury law firm, Lane & Lane, LLC. This boutique family-managed law firm specializes in medical and professional negligence, advocating for survivors of sexual abuse, promises and product liability, motor vehicle accidents, and other related practice areas that involve catastrophic injury and wrongful death.

After receiving his Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude; from Southern Methodist University, Mr. Lane earned his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law in 1988.

In 2002, Attorney Lane was selected as a 40 Under 40 Attorney to Watch in Illinois. He is also regularly selected as an Illinois Super Lawyer as published by Law & Politics and Chicago Magazine.

In 2014, Attorney Lane became a member of The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100. He is co-director and primary instructor of the Illinois State Bar Association Trial Technique Institute and adjunct professor at the Loyola University of Chicago School of Law. Attorney Lane is a frequent lecturer at civil litigation bar association seminars and also coaches Loyola’s Trial Team.

Attorney Lane is an active member of the following legal organizations: the American College of Legal Medicine, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the International Society of Primerus, and the American Association for Justice (formerly known as “ATLA”).

When Mr. Lane is not in the courtroom or meeting with clients, he is spending time with his wife of more than twenty-five years, Nancy, and their two adult children. He also enjoys authoring articles, texts, and chapters pertaining to a wide variety of civil litigation topics. He is even a contributing mediator to Lane’s Goldstein Trial Technique and Lane Medical Litigation Guide.
