Sean received his B.A. in political science from the University of New Hampshire in 1987 and then went on to compete as an active member of the United States National Rowing team for a number of years. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1995 and joined Shaheen & Gordon in 1996.
Sean has focused his practice on representing businesses and business owners in a wide variety of matters ranging from choosing the proper business entity for start-ups to commercial litigation disputes. He has successfully litigated or resolved construction disputes, land use issues and difficult corporate dissolution matters. Working with other members of the corporate group at the firm, he has helped both domestic and international clients meet their business needs including providing guidance in complex business acquisitions. Sean has also practiced extensively in other areas of civil litigation. He has significant experience in both insurance defense and plaintiffs' representation.
Sean serves as a director and officer of the Children's Museum of Portsmouth, a non-profit Children's Museum which has served Seacoast New Hampshire children and their families for twenty years. Sean serves on the Board of Directors of Great Bay Rowing, a non-profit organization he founded in 1997. Great Bay Rowing provides competitive and recreational rowing opportunities for those in Seacoast New Hampshire and Southern Maine. He has previously served on the Board of Directors of AIDS Response Seacoast, a not-for-profit agency providing services to those with AIDS and HIV in Southeastern New Hampshire and Southern Maine and on the Board of Directors of Dover Main Street, a civic organization committed to revitalization and improvement of the Dover Business Community.
