      Biography

Attorney Shawn Kressley grew up in western Pennsylvania. In 2006, he graduated, cum laude, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with degrees in Marketing and Economics. Mr. Kressley attended law school at the University of Pittsburgh where he obtained his juris doctor in 2010. While in law school he received the John Gismondi Civil Litigation Certificate after completing a specialized curriculum devoted exclusively to becoming a trial lawyer. During law school, Mr. Kressley was also a co-recipient of the 2010 Pro Bono Award from the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation, based upon his representation of indigent clients who could not afford legal counsel.

After completing law school, Mr. Kressley served a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Debbie O’Dell Seneca (ret.), President Judge of the Washington County Court of Common Pleas. Following the completion of his clerkship, Mr. Kressley worked for almost five years at a civil defense firm in Pittsburgh where he defended insurance companies and self-insured entities in personal injury lawsuits filed by victims. During this time, Mr. Kressley gained a tremendous amount of experience and insight into the way insurance companies evaluate and defend claims for injuries caused by the negligence and carelessness of their insureds. However, he became frustrated with the fact that injury victims typically have the odds stacked heavily against them when attempting to deal with insurance companies after being injured in an accident, especially when unrepresented by legal counsel.

Mr. Kressley joined the law firm of DelVecchio & Miller, LLC, so that he could focus his legal practice exclusively on advocating for the rights of injured victims in their personal injury cases. Mr. Kressley handles personal injury cases throughout western and central Pennsylvania and has also handled appellate cases before both the Pennsylvania Superior Court and the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court. Since joining DelVecchio & Miller LLC, Mr. Kressley has represented clients who were seriously injured in a variety of different types of personal injury cases, including:

Automobile accidentsMotorcycle accidentsDrunk driving accidentsAutomobile insurance coverage casesPedestrian accidentsSlip-and-fall accidentsPremises liability accidentsCommercial property accidentsHomeowner liability casesDog bites
