Stanley J. Levy

Stanley J. Levy is of counsel at Levy Konigsberg LLP. As one of LK's founding members, Stan has led the firm in building a national reputation as a leader in handling personal injury and wrongful death litigation involving asbestos, mesothelioma, product liability, hazardous wastes, contaminated groundwater, and other toxic torts. He has also expanded the firm's select areas of litigation to include pharmaceutical, healthcare, government, consumer, and commercial fraud.

After graduating from Harvard College in 1956 and Columbia University's School of Law in 1959, Stan served for four years as an Assistant Attorney General of New York. In that capacity, he investigated securities and consumer fraud, and was instrumental in the early regulation of real estate syndications under then-State Attorney General Louis Lefkowitz.

For more than two decades, Stan has been active on committees involving product liability, aeronautics, mass litigation toxic torts, and environmental law for the American Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the New York State Bar Association, the Federal Bar Council, and the Million Dollar Verdict Association.

He has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ray Tech Corporation and the U.S. Minerals Corporation, and as a director of the Manville Corporation.

A recognized authority on toxic torts and environmental law, Stan has frequently been cited in The Best Lawyers in America and in New York Super Lawyers.

He is the author of more than two dozen professional articles and has been a frequent lecturer for the National Law Journal, the Practicing Law Institute, and the Law Journal.
