Steve only half-jokes that he wound up going to law school at age 58 as a result of drinking with the wrong people. After a 35-year career as a best-selling author, publisher at Time and Scholastic, and CEO of three internet start-ups, Steve went to law school. He graudate cum laude and then joined legendary trial attorney Tom Moore's firm, where he honed his trial skills. More recently, a judge on the Second Circuit Court of Appeals surprised him by recommending that lawyers watch reruns of Law & Order — "Anything with Jerry Orbach is good law."
Steve's unique skill as an attorney is that he knows how — and how important it is — to tell a clear, compelling story. He was only the second person to have op-ed articles published in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal on the same day. His experience in the "real world" — working for blue-chip companies, for a successful presidential candidate, and as a mixed-success entrepreneur — enables Steve to look at a client's problem from varied perspectives. Steve attended the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, received his A.B. from Brown University — which was paid for by the Navy — and his law degree from New York Law School.
