Steven Seglin is Of Counsel to the firm. His primary areas of practice are Natural Resources, Water Law, Public Power, and Telecommunications. While representing clients in these areas, Steve has counseled them on all aspects of the law applicable to these areas of practice. He also practices in the areas of Regulatory Licensing, Environmental Law and Condemnation. For over 10 years he represented the developer of the Low Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Site in its efforts to obtain a license from the State of Nebraska to store low-level radioactive waste. He represented the developer along with lawyers for the Central Interstate Low Level Radioactive Waste Commission and generators of low-level waste in a federal court lawsuit against the State of Nebraska for bad faith in denying the developer a license and recovered a judgment in excess of $150 million. In 1980, Steve along with former Nebraska Governor Robert Crosby represented a natural resources district seeking transbasin diversion (diverting surface water from one river basin to another) where the Nebraska Supreme Court reversed a 1936 ruling prohibiting transbasin diversion.
