Steve Marshall was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2007 and received his J.D. in 2012 from American University - Washington College of Law, in Washington, D.C.
Steve was exposed to the injustices of the legal system from an early age. His father, a criminal defense attorney, helped free numerous individuals who had been wrongfully convicted, many of whom had been sentenced to death. Steve developed personal relationships with many of those individuals and realized at a young age the importance of diligent legal representation for those overrun by the legal system.
Steve is a skilled writer and oral advocate and has successfully argued numerous complex issues in court on behalf of his clients. He loves to fully immerse himself in his cases and is known for his tireless approach to investigation and legal research.
Before becoming an attorney, Steve spent several years in sales, first as a hot dog vendor at Wrigley Field and then for a startup technology company in New York City. He believes that just as in sales, a key to being a successful lawyer is building and maintaining relationships -- with opposing counsels, with judges, and most importantly, with his clients, who regularly comment on his ability to keep them informed and explain their options in a clear and effective manner.
He is admitted to practice before state and federal courts in Tennessee and California.
