Stuart A. Tucker, a partner, focuses his practice on personal injury litigation, business litigation, labor law and general litigation. Prior to joining Szaferman Lakind in 1988, Stuart served as In-House General Counsel to the Trenton Housing Authority; he maintains an extensive landlord-tenant practice today, representing both landlords and tenants.Stuart was one of 11 members appointed by Governor Jon Corzine to the Governor's Local Government Ethics Task Force in August of 2009. The Task Force is tasked with reviewing and recommending amendments to local government ethics laws, as well as making recommendations regarding ethics training and compliance for local governmental agencies. Members of the committee were characterized by the Governor as "the leading voices" on ethics in the State.Stuart, a native of Trenton, has deep roots in the Trenton community. He has been an active community volunteer, serving on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Greater Mercer County, and as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Greater Trenton Area Academic and Technology Charter School. He is on the Mercer County Vicinage Committee on Minority Concerns and has volunteered as a mentor for several Trenton youth groups. He is general counsel to Trenton's Kingdom Church and Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, and has provided legal services to several other churches and pastors. Stuart is a member of the American Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar Association. He has served as a Trusteee of the Mecer County Bar Association, and as a member of its Scholarship Committee and its Young Lawyers Committee. He previously served on the New Jersey State Bar Association District VII Ethics Committee, and currently serves on the District VII Fee Arbtiration Committee.
