Tamiko is a native Californian and has lived her entire life in Los Angeles. After her graduation from Pepperdine University School of Law, Tamiko became active in defending the rights of indigents to adequate housing and in providing legal aid to victims of domestic violence. She moved to the private sector in 1995 and became an active member of the plaintiffs' bar.
