      Biography

      Tatiana Avakian is an associate attorney at The Law Office of Omid Nosrati. Ms. Avakian joined the firm in May 2013 as a law clerk. Ms. Avakian represents employees in a variety of employment disputes, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour litigation including class actions.

      Ms. Avakian early successes include her prevailing on behalf of her client against a defendant's motion for summary judgment in a religious discrimination lawsuit, and helping obtain several six-figure settlements in a range of cases including wrongful termination, wage and hour claims, race discrimination, and disability discrimination.

      Ms. Avakian graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History in December 2009. In May 2014, Ms. Avakian graduated from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. Ms. Avakian was admitted to the California State Bar in December 2014.

      Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Avakian clerked for the Workers' Rights Unit of the Neighborhood Legal Services, a non-profit dedicated to providing legal assistance to low-income individuals. There, Ms. Avakian worked on cases dealing with wage and hour claims and unemployment insurance benefits claim. Ms. Avakian represented a Neighborhood Legal Services client in his unemployment insurance benefits appeals and successfully helped him to retain his unemployment insurance benefits.

      In addition, during the fall of 2012, Ms. Avakian participated in Loyola Law School's Employment Rights Clinic, working as a Retaliation Complaint Investigator and drafting decisions for retaliation cases filed with the Labor Commissioner's Office.

      During the spring of 2013, Ms. Avakian clerked for Supervisory Administrative Judge Diane Arkow Gross at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. There, she assisted in drafting determinations for discrimination and retaliation cases filed with the EEOC.

      In her spare time, Ms. Avakian enjoys reading, cooking, and hiking.
