Terese M. Latham

Terese M. Latham is actively handling healthcare litigation throughout Florida, representing physicians, dentists, hospitals, nursing homes and other healthcare providers in medical malpractice and other related matters. Additionally, Ms. Latham handles administrative issues with healthcare professionals, including licensing, medical staff and peer review matters. Ms. Latham also represents nurses, physician assistants and certified registered nurse anesthetists.

Ms. Latham routinely provides mock trial presentations at medical facilities and long term care facilities in Central and North Florida for the Firm's healthcare clients. The Mock Trial focuses on the impact of medical record documentation on medical negligence litigation. The audience has been comprised of nurses, nursing assistants, therapists, risk managers and administrative personnel. At the conclusion of the Mock Trial, the audience participates as the jury and deliberates to a verdict. The Mock Trial presentations have been an invaluable educational tool and well received as these cause the audience to realize that good documentation is essential in the defense of a claim and deficient documentation can be difficult to defend.

She is a member of the Florida Bar Association, Orange County Bar Association, Defense Research Institute (DRI), Florida Defense Lawyers Association, Florida Academy of Healthcare Attorneys and the Florida Hospital Association. Ms. Latham has lectured on all aspects of healthcare matters to hospital risk managers, physicians and nurses. In addition to handling healthcare matters, Ms. Latham has qualified as a Proctor in Admiralty, with the firm serving as appointed defense counsel to several large cruise companies. She is a member of the prestigious Council on Litigation Management, a nonpartisan alliance of insurance companies, corporations, Corporate Counsel, Litigation and Risk Managers, claims professionals and outside counsel. Membership is by invitation only based on nominations from CLM Fellows. Ms. Latham has been awarded a Peer Review Rating of "AV" by the LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. Such distinction reflects the highest rating which may be bestowed upon a lawyer by her peers.
