Theodore C. Eastmoore is a shareholder in the firm. Ted was born and raised in Palatka, Florida where his father has served as a Circuit Judge for over twenty-five years. Following his father into a career in the law, Ted graduated from the University of Florida in 1976 with Honors. In 1980, he received his law degree from Stetson University. In law school, Ted was an editor of the Stetson University Law Review. After graduation, Ted had the honor of serving as a Law Clerk to Justice Ben F. Overton of the Florida Supreme Court.
Ted is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer who concentrates his practice in the areas of accident and personal injury law, wrongful death, and professional malpractice. Ted represents both individuals who have been injured because of the negligence of others and those who need defense against such claims. By actively representing both plaintiffs and defendants in negligence and professional malpractice claims, Ted is able to effectively analyze these cases from all perspectives.
Ted has devoted a great deal of time to improving the practice of law for lawyers and their clients through his activities in the local and state bars. He has served as President of both the Sarasota Country Bar Association Young Lawyers Section and The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division. Ted has also served as Chair of the Second District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission and the Twelfth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission helping to insure the finest candidates are chosen to be judges in our area. Ted was also chosen by the Florida Supreme Court to be a member of the committee reviewing the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and by the Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida to serve on that Court's federal grievance committee. Ted served for 10 years as a member of the Executive Council of the Trial Lawyers Section of the Florida Bar and was elected to all officer positions, including chair.
Ted and his wife, Sarasota native Karen Stottlemyer Eastmoore, have five children.
