      Biography

Tom Bosworth was a standout student at the James E. Beasley School of Law at Temple University who now litigates medical malpractice, personal injury, and product liability cases at Kline & Specter.

In his most recent case, Bosworth was co-counsel in a trial that resulted in a $41 million verdict against Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Ethicon Inc. on behalf of a Pennsylvania woman who was left permanently injured by the company’s defective vaginal mesh implant device. The verdict included $16 million in compensatory damages and $25 million in punitive damages.

Immediately before joining Kline & Specter, Bosworth was a law clerk for U.S. District Judge Lawrence F. Stengel, chief judge of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Bosworth graduated magna cum laude from Temple’s law school and was ranked in the top 10 percent of his class. He was chosen from among the more than 200 graduates to receive one of three awards bestowed by the Trial Advocacy Program to students who display excellence in civil trial advocacy.

Bosworth was recognized for his oratory skills, including his selection as a member of Temple’s nationally ranked trial team. He received an award for Outstanding Oral Advocacy and won the Integrated Trial Advocacy Program Graduation Award for excellence in civil trial advocacy.

Bosworth also won numerous awards for classroom performance, including for Advanced Civil Trial Advocacy and Advanced Criminal Trial Advocacy. In fact, during his last year at Temple, he won a multi-million dollar verdict in a mock trial in which he delivered the opening speech and cross-examined the defense expert. The verdict was by far the largest awarded among several trials and helped earn Bosworth the highest grade in his Advanced Civil Trial Advocacy Class.

Bosworth was research editor for the Temple Law Review and was a member of the Order of the Coif, a national honor society for law school graduates. He was a recipient of the Law Faculty Scholarship and the Justin Michael Ingerman Scholarship.

Bosworth won the Elizabeth C. High Award for outstanding academic achievement and the Honorable Dolores K. Sloviter Award, named for the former federal appellate judge for the student who writes an excellent paper in the area of federal judicial administration or federal jurisdiction.

At Temple, Bosworth was an advocate for the Student Discipline Advocacy Service (SDAS) and also a teacher’s assistant for Advanced Civil Trial Advocacy. He earned his undergraduate degree from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla.
