Thomas G. Schmitzer, Sr. is a partner in the firm, having practiced here since his graduation from Hamline University School of Law in 1996. Attorney Schmitzer received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1993 and is also a graduate of Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha. He has litigated civil and criminal cases in both state and federal courts and has handled numerous appellate matters before the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.
PRACTICE AREASAttorney Schmitzer's practice is concentrated in civil litigation, including personal injury and automobile accidents, insurance coverage and bad faith, business litigation, and trust disputes. He also handles real estate transactions and development, zoning and land use matters before municipal governments, business and corporate law, as well as estate planning. Attorney Schmitzer has been the Prosecuting Attorney for the City of New Berlin since 1998.
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPSAttorney Schmitzer is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin. He is a member of the Waukesha County Bar Association and currently serves as the President of the County Bar's Bench/Bar Committee. Attorney Schmitzer was recently named a 2013 "Legal Leader" in Wisconsin by Martindale-Hubbell.
VOLUNTEER SERVICEAttorney Schmitzer is an active member of the community, having served on the Board of Directors of The Caring Place, Inc. and the Friends of the Caring Place, Inc. He has served as President of each of those organizations.
PERSONALAttorney Schmitzer and his wife, Sheilah, are the proud parents of four children. He enjoys exercise, fishing, gardening, music, and coaching youth football.
